Antenatal Education
Private Antenatal classes are held in the privacy of your own home. Classes can be tailored to suit your needs at a time convenient to you. Reference material is provided and group sessions are negotiable.

2 x 3 hour sessions
3 x 2 hour sessions

Lactation Consultations
One of the best gifts a mother can give her baby is to breastfeed. The advantages for both mother and baby are numerous. Breastfeeding is natural, it is how we as females were designed to nurture our babies. For babies it provides optimum nutrition, protects against illness and reduces the risk of contracting major disease. It is a safe warm and peaceful place for your baby to go when he/she is upset.
Just as breastfeeding has benefits for babies it is advantageous for mother's as well. It can reduce the risk of breast and ovarian cancer as well as osteoporosis. It is convenient, free and is accessible at any time, in any place. Remember breastfeeding is not just a nutritional relationship, it is a nurturing one as well.
There are many factors that contribute to successful breastfeeding and it requires a team effort by both mother and baby. Complications and challenges can arise from both. As the mother you may have flat or inverted nipples, a fast flow or low supply of milk. Your baby may have a tongue tie, a weak suck or may refuse the breast.
Postnatal Angels will come to your home and offer specialist assistance, support and advice with any of the following challenges:-
Attachment & Positioning
Managing sore / Damaged nipples / Thrush
Low supply / Over supply
Engorgement / Mastitis / Blocked ducts
Expressing and Storage of Breastmilk
Colic / Reflux
Baby with slow weight gain

A weekly follow up phone call for a fortnight is included in your Lactation Consultation

Sleep & Settling
Postnatal Angels believes that routine is fundamental in day to day family life. Research based evidence shows that babies and toddlers feel safe, secure and confident when they are in a routine. Postnatal Angels works on a feed/play/sleep routine where by parents are educated on the tired signs and given strategies to settle their baby that is conducive to the family environment.
In order to ensure that the visit consists of tackling the challenge at hand an email will be sent prior to the visit requiring you to fill out any relevant history that may be helpful at the initial consult. Once this form has been filled out and sent back, you will be contacted and an appropriate time will be made to home visit around your baby's sleep time.
Sleep & settling home visits consist of a minimum of two hours with a weekly follow up phone call for a month included in your sleep & settling consultation.
The visit will involve:
Feed / Play / Sleep routine
Recognising tired signs
Becoming aware of your babies cues
Age appropriate settling and comforting techniques
A happy contented baby requires confident parents. Postnatal Angels will equip you with the knowledge and skills to empower and give you the confidence you need to become self assured confident parents.
